We had Advance Heating & Cooling install a new ducted Amana heat pump + backup furnace in our house. We had five quotations from different Kitchener-Waterloo companies, and were looking at both heat pumps and ACs from Trane, Lennox, and Amana, while trying to avoid rebranded Gree and Midea (reddit helps a lot with selection). The owner of the company, Vincent, visited the house for inspection and gave us a quote right away. He is knowledgeable and speaks to you with some awareness of your technical HVAC knowledge. In other words, he's not rattling off the typical sales Q&A with little relevance to your particular query or situation, as I found other HVAC salespersons often did. Vincent is also helpful in proposing solutions to generic questions ("not cooling this room enough", "water drainage issue", "power consumption and tracking", etc.) or ones that may be unique to your house. I was looking into a second ductless mini-split, for which I called Vinent numerous times to figure out specs, models, and availability from dealership. He was prompt, and even if he couldn't answer my call right away, he would call back.We were able to book an installation within two weeks. The installers, Shah and Pouya, arrived promptly at 8am and began installing it. It took them the whole day to finish the job, along with removing the old AC and furnace, testing the new "communicating" heat pump, and cleaning up. They don't mind if you ask them pointed questions about how things work, while they're working. Vincent also popped in and out a couple times checking in on things, and we had a third bloke, Joe, install an AprilAire humidifier in a few hours. They perform the usual battery of tests on the line set (pressure tests, vacuum, etc.). It all went smoothly.It's only been a week since the install; so, I'd be loath to comment on the durability or longevity of the Amana heat pump, but there is a 10 year warranty from the manufacturer. Advance is prompt on text and phone and should something falter, I'm not worried about my new HVAC unit.Overall, I'm very happy to have chosen Advance Heating & Cooling and would highly recommend them.

Not all heroes wear capes -- some heroes come up colourfully branded Advance Heating & Cooling trucks. I had an HVAC disaster; there was a leak in my newly installed system, and the FOUR (4) prior service technicians all told me it was a leak in the building's shared utility chase -- which I could not access and would have been horribly expensive to replace (if it were even possible to access).Vincent from Advance Heating & Cooling showed up, then Joe showed up after him, and together this tag team of HVAC supermen found the leak (an issue with a valve in the coil, caused by a shortcut taken during the install). They then commissioned the rest of the AC system (which was never finished by the installer because of this leak) and made sure it was working properly.They also were priced really well and gave me a discount for the hardships I had been through already (charged me only for one technician's time, even though they ended up having three guys working on it by the end of it). My system is now working. They arrived at 10 am and got the entire thing done by 4 pm (and even took a long lunch break to grab all the equipment they would need).These guys know their stuff, they're not pushy with sales, and they want things done RIGHT. Having interacted with more HVAC people than I care to count, I can't recommend them enough for what they did to properly diagnose the issue and find a solution quickly. They were quick to spot problems with the install and the ways that previous technicians had diagnosed the issue. I can't recommend them enough.
I am very happy with the high quality of work Advanced did on the repairs on my Central Air Conditioner and most recently the purchase and installation of a new water heater system in my home! Advanced crew was professional, and worked to make sure everything was correctly installed. I have invited the HVAC team (Vince) back year after year to complete preventative maintenance. I'm happy with my recently installed furnace branded Goodman performed by Shah and Pouya. My old furnace 20+ years started triggering the sensors and shutting off the ignition. Vincent carefully explained why it was necessary to legitimately replace the unit and offered a good deal and warranty. I would also highlight that even in reduced workspace, they took care not damaging any other device in my utility room.
Mixed feelings on this. My Service Technician, Vincent was great. Straightforward and honest. Clearly sees he cares about what he does and how it affects the people he deals with.My furnace died, opted for a heat pump. Waited a week mostly due to having to wait for a house assessment to get a government rebate. No worries, Advance gave me an electric heater to help with the blistering cold.Install day comes, three guys in to install. Started early, stayed late. Perfect. I had to leave at 5:30 with the family for another commitment. No problem.Came back later that night to see all my downstairs lights were still on, heat was jacked up 28, none of the floors/steps had been swept. The vent piping that need to go outside was done reasonably well, but doesn't look like a professional job. I'm over 6 feet tall, and the pipes barely clear my head without ducking making the space feel more cramped than normal. I understand there isn't much space to play with, but I know I can reroute the piping to be up a little more. In that space, every inch matters and I know I'm being a little picky in this regard.I did notice the day after that I also had to turn my water heater back on. Not sure how that could have been missed, but here we are.Overall a positive experience, but there is definitely room for improvement as this business grows. Keep Vincent!
